Beginning of the Dispute
for centuries , muslims prayed inside the mosque while Hindus continued worshipping the Janambhoomi , just outside on a raised platform ( chabutra ).
In 1853 :- Local rioting & clashes for control over mosque.
1885 :- Mahant Raghuvar das pleaded in Faizabad court to build a temple over Ram chabutra ( a platform ) near the masjid . The request was denied.
Events of 1949
22/23 Dec , 1949 : Appearance of Ramlala ( infant lord ram ) Idol inside the mosque premises.
Local muslims complained about the placement of idols Civil Suits were filed
The Premises wee locked by the administration to avoid riots .
In 1986 ; A district judge ordered the gates of mosque to be opened after 37 years and allowed Hindus to worship inside dispute structure.
A Baburi mosque action committe was formed as muslim protested the move.
1n 1990 : V.P. Singh Became P.M of India with support of BJP .
Later BJP President Lal Krishna Advani took out a Rath Ytra to support for the move to build a Ram temple at site ..
Oct 23 , 1990 ; Lal Krishna Advani was arrested in Bihar during rath yatra .
Following this BJP took back its support from the current govt.
sh. Chandra Shekhar became the PM o f India with support of congress .
In 1991 ; Rajiv Gndhi associated while campaingning for elections .
Congrss returned to power as the people started supporting Congress after demise of Rahul's Father Rajiv Gandhi.

after this new UP Gov. acquired 2.77 acre of the disputed site for tourism purpose.
the Allahabad Court banned any permanent emstruction .
Demolition of Babri Masjid

Liberhan commission was formed
In 2003 ; - according to court's order a survey was conducted on that site to find out whether a temple of Lord Rama existed on the site or not.
- In august the survey presented evidence of a temple under mosque
- Muslims group disputed the findings .
In 2010 ; - The allahabad high court gave its verdict on 30 Sep 2010
Verdict ; Ayodhya disputed land to be divided in to three parts
1 - Ram lalla
2 Sita rasoi and Ram chabutra
3 Sunni Waqf board
Aug 2019 ;- Supreme Court referred the long standing Ram Janambhoomi - Babri masjid land dispute case to mediation by a 3 member panel.
